School Improvement Council

School Improvement Council is a branch of the Parent Teacher Organization of Hunter Street Elementary.  Meetings are held periodically in order to improve students' learning experiences and provide an enriching learning environment.  Please call 803.684.1926 for more information about participating or attending School Improvement Council meetings.

Purpose

The purpose of the Hunter Street Elementary School Improvement Council is to:

  • Serve as an advisory council to the Principal and school on issues related to school improvement;
  • Provide input and feedback during the development of the school’s 5 year renewal (improvement) plan and annual updates;
  • Assist in implementation of school improvement programs and activities;
  • Monitor and report on progress toward improvement goals in the annual SIC Report to the Parents and with the Principal in the narrative to the SC School Report Card; and
  • Provide other assistance as requested by the Principal

The council will not have the powers and duties reserved by law or regulation to the local school board.
