Hunter Street Elementary Media Center

Mrs. Sara Howard- Media Specialist

Welcome to the Media Center webpage!

The Hunter Street Library is an important part of our school. Students are encouraged to use library resources for pleasure reading, information seeking, and listening. Books may be checked out for one week and may be renewed for an additional week if a student desires. There are no fines for overdue books. Students are requested, however, to properly care for books in their charge and to return books when due. Parents can help their children develop a genuine love for books and reading by encouraging them to read and by reading to them at home. Losses from the library are usually few. As in any library, parents are responsible for books lost or damaged by students.

Book Fairs

We hold Book Fairs twice each year.  These raise money for our Media Center and provide the students and parents an opportunity to purchase books to add to their personal libraries.  Parents are welcome to visit the book fair during the school day, either during their child's lunch/recess time, after school or at other times as arranged with the student's teacher.  It will also be open on Thursday evening for parent/family visits.

Our Spring Book Fair will be held from March 9 through Mach 13.  It will be open;

Monday 7:30am - 2:45pm
Tuesday 7':30am - 2:45pm
Wednesday 7:30am - 3:45pm
Thursday 7:30am - 6:30pm
Friday 7:30am - 1:00pm

Parents wishing to provide their child with money to spend are encouraged to use the 'E-Wallet'.  Here parents can add money to their student's Book Fair account via debit/credit cards and the student can spend the credit when they visit the Fair.
